Initial situation
A model-based design and control of logistic networks often leads to simulation models that are complex and contain a large variety of parameters and structural alternatives. To achieve useful and trustworthy results by simulation, a well-defined modelling notation with a clear semantics and an adequate tool support are essential. In addition, simulative analysis has to be supplemented with non-simulative techniques to increase the efficiency of system analysis and system optimization.
